Spreading Hope During COVID-19
Thanks to your generosity and creativity, we're making sure our kids and staff stay safe and comfortable during these uncertain times.

2020 Campus Upgrades

Amid the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, The Children’s Receiving Home remains dedicated to both our children and staff. During this unprecedented time, in-kind donations and event-based fundraisers have unfortunately been put on hold; having us prepare for a decline in community giving. Thankfully, due to your creativity and dedication to our Home, you proved us wrong.

This summer, our campus is getting rejuvenated all because our community cares. Thanks to our generous partners, HomeAid Sacramento and Meritage Homes our kids’ living quarters were fully transformed with brand new flooring. To top it off, Fletcher’s Plumbing is donating and installing new hot water heaters for each dorm.

But the giving doesn’t stop there!

Through the Metro Chamber’s Inspire Giving Grant, our friends at IKEA will be coming out to to complete these dorm make overs with brand new room essentials and decorations. These gifts will make our kids’ stay with us more comfortable during this unimaginable time in their lives. We are sincerely grateful to all of our donors for your continued outpour of generosity and support.

Do you have a family fund or donor-advised fund? We recently learned about a chance for your money to go further than ever, through the “Half My DAF” matching-grant challenge initiated by a married couple in the Bay Area. Today, over $120 billion sits unused in Donor-Advised Funds and community foundations across the country.

The #HalfMyDAF challenge aims to put these charitable dollars to work now, when and where they’re needed most.
During the current health and economic crisis, at-risk children are even more vulnerable. Team CRH is actively preparing for this potential wave of children in need of our care, and your investment ensures that we will have dorms, highly trained staff and programs at the ready to welcome them.
Anyone who makes a grant to us and commits to granting half the money from their DAF by September 30th gives us the chance to be one of 150 non-profits to receive a matching grant (up to $25,000). The more people who nominate our organization, the better our chances.

Would you consider participating and nominating the Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento to be a beneficiary of these matching funds? You can learn more at

Thank you for all that you have made possible for our youth; and for considering this unique opportunity to make a huge philanthropic impact in our community.

Sprouts is BACK

After a short hiatus, our Sprouts: Trauma Informed Care Preschool is ready to start back up again. Our unique preschool provides a variety of therapeutic and early intervention services for young children ages 2-5 with a history of trauma. While enrolled, kids are able to process the abuse they’ve experienced and learn to socialize with peers, while also building an educational foundation that will level their playing fields when they get to elementary school.

If you know a local child or family who may benefit from Sprouts Trauma-Informed Care Preschool, please contact (916) 482-2370 ext. 1013.
