Three ILP Youth Graduate in June

It should come as no surprise that the work we do here at the Children’s Receiving Home is tough. The kids we serve come from incredibly difficult situations, and have some very high barriers put in their way. The deck is stacked against these kids and we work very hard to change their stories.

This is why we are so excited to have great cause for celebration this month. CRH is very proud to announce we have three youth graduating, not only from high school, but also from our Independent Living Program (ILP).
These three youth have worked incredibly hard, against some very tough odds—did you know that only 50% of foster youth graduate from high school? And if this isn’t enough, all three will be attending college in the fall—something that only 10% of foster youth achieve.
Their success is due to four key factors:

Their hard work

Supportive foster families

Caring staff at CRH

And you. Yes, you.

When kids come to the Receiving Home, we become their family. This includes our compassionate staff, as well as our donors and supporters. You help us care for them, teach them, and hopefully inspire hope where there was none.Without a “family of support” around these kids, they would fall victim to the sad statistics that transpire against so many other foster youth.
So, please join us in congratulating these three exceptional youth. We wish them all the best on their path to success and promise to continue to be there when they need help, support, and someone to fall back on when times are tough.
Thank you again for joining the CRH “family of support.” We couldn’t do what we do to change these precious lives without your help.
