About Us

What we do and who we are

The Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento provides a spectrum of services for youth in crisis across the Sacramento region. Founded in 1944 through a cooperative effort of the Junior League of Sacramento and the Rotary Club of Sacramento, CRH has risen to meet the specific needs of each child in need of our care for 79 years. Previously at two other locations, the Children’s Receiving Home has been located at its current site since 1965, on six acres of land deeded to the agency by the City of Sacramento.

The continuum of care we offer includes an on-site preschool for the youngest survivors of family trauma; outpatient mental health care for children residing in the community dealing with anxiety and depression; and residential treatment for children who have suffered abuse, neglect or other trauma.
