Visitation Department
One agency program of the Children’s
Receiving Home is facilitating supervised, monitored or observed visits with family
members. Having regular and consistent contact with family is essential to the emotional
well being of all those involved. We encourage and support all communication between
the children that are here and their families.
To better support children and families we offer two separate specialized services.
There are times when children who are placed here need to have their contact with
their families closely supervised and monitored. This contact is ordered by the
Juvenile Court for the protection of the child during their investigation. We offer
special supervised visitation on a daily basis at times that are most convenient
for the family. We are also able provide transportation for the parents, and children
currently placed elsewhere, if needed, to help ensure a total family visit can occur.
Visits will occur as often as possible, but always under the coordination of the
County Social Worker. We are flexible and will arrange for our visits to occur throughout
the day and will start the visit when the parents are able to arrive. All our visits
are coordinated through the County Social Worker and will be arranged with 24-48
hours once we receive the initial referral.
We also offer the service of supervised phone contact. Again, as directed by the
Juvenile Court and County Social Worker, we will offer this program to the families
on a daily basis.
Both programs are an extension of the Social Work department and are coordinated
through Visitation Counselors, who have been trained in these areas.
