RESIDENTIAL COUNSELOR:  Currently Closed.
Under the direction of the Residential Supervisor, the Residential Counselor is responsible for the daily care and supervision of agency clients and living conditions. The Residential Counselor position is responsible for the daily care and supervision of agency clients and living conditions. Responsible for creating a favorable group climate in which the child’s safety, emotional nurturing and healthy development are of primary concern. Provide a caring, warm environment for the children through setting clear boundaries and encouraging positive behaviors. Responsible for helping clients build self-esteem, age appropriate interpersonal skills, positive thinking, problem solving and coping skills. Responsible for the hour by hour care, safety, supervision, protection, guidance and discipline of the group as a whole and for each child as an individual. Responsible for meeting the health and personal hygiene needs of the children under their care. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High School graduate or GED equivalent.

Must have good organizational skills and be able to make decisions in a firm, timely and equitable manner

Must have a positive interest in the care and developmental needs of our clients.

Must be able to report to work on a regular and reliable basis.

Must have a valid California driver’s license and current auto insurance.

Comply with Title 22, Department of Social Services Licensing Regulations.

Employee must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position as the job requires some strenuous activities. Employee must be able to:

Lift 30 pounds, more than 30 pounds with assistance.

Sit, stand, squat, or bend for extended periods of time.

Reach over head for short periods of time.

Help a child with clothing, zippers, buttons, snaps, and tying shoes, and other tasks such as these.

Excellent communication skills are needed.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time in an efficient manner.

We have full-time, part-time, day time and graveyard shifts available!
All positions require a background check, drug & physical test, valid California Drivers License, acceptable DMV record and that you be 21 years of age or older.
