Providing a safe haven of comfort, hope and healing
Our Purpose
The basic mission of the Receiving Home provides hope and healing for children and their families who suffer from the effects of abuse and neglect. The children that reside here have been abused, molested, neglected, abandoned, or have families who are otherwise unable to provide for them.

Our Mission
The Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento is committed to changing the lives of abused and neglected children and their families by providing a safe haven of comfort, hope and healing.

Our Vision
The Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento will be the premier agency in the nation for abused and neglected children and their families through comprehensive services, excellent leadership, highly-skilled staff and community partnerships.

Our Values
Respect - We respect the value and individuality of each person with whom we work and serve.

Innovation - We provide leadership and innovation through a process of Continuous Quality Improvement.

Stewardship - We are diligent and responsible stewards for all that is entrusted to our care.

Excellence - We are committed to the highest standards of excellence in work and service.
"I'm often asked how we know our services really work. The answer is simple. Many come back as adults to thank us and some even return as employees or serve on our Board of Directors. They want to help today's kids the same way they were helped - It's their way of giving back."

In Brief...
Founded in 1944, CRH provides a refuge of comfort, hope and healing to over 1,200 children and families each year. It is not one individual program that makes us successful, but the combination of all services that make our care to children and families complete.

In addition to 24-hour residential and shelter care, CRH provides comprehensive assessments, medical assistance, counseling and social-work services, on-site and community based mental health programs, an independent living program for emancipating teens, a multi grade on-site public school, activities, recreation and a child/family visitation center. The impact that we make in the lives of the people we serve is only made possible through the generosity of the community!
CRH is thrilled to announce the first graduations and emancipations from our new Independent Living Program!

Dakota Carboni and Garrette Booker, both receiving their diplomas in January, and are now our first youths to move across the street to Auburn Village, a transitional housing complex CRH is proud to offer through a partnership with Pride Industries.

Dakota graduated from Valley Oaks School, CRH’s own public school here on campus, making him the first official graduate of Valley Oaks while Garrette is a proud graduate of Aldar Academy here in Sacramento. In addition to working hard for their diplomas, both youth have dedicated time, energy and effort to gain the skills they will need now that they have emancipated from the foster care system and both look forward to working and continuing their education.

Congratulations to Dakota and Garrette!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered and dontated gifts to our children for Christmas; it is truly remarkable to see how the Sacramento community came together to make this time of year merry for our area's most vulnerable children. We would not be able to provide a refuge of comfort, hope and healing to abused and neglected children without you. THANK YOU!!!
